



Mission Statement: GFBTA is dedicated to preparing young players for the next level in baseball performance. Qualified professional staff will assist George Foster in obtaining tremendous results for each player.
George Foster, brings his 18 years of major league baseball experience, together with a core staff of former professional and college baseball players and coaches, to teach fundamental and advanced baseball skills and techniques, the professional way.
The
George Foster played in the major leagues for eighteen years, eleven with the Cincinnati Reds from 1971-1981. He made a name for himself as a powerful, productive hitter who had five of the best seasons of any player of his time including three consecutive RBI championships from 1976 to 1978, tying a major league record. In 1977, he was named the National League’s MVP when he batted .320 and led the league with 52 home runs,149 RBI’s, 124 runs scored, and a .631 slugging percentage.
George became only the seventh National League player to hit 50 or more home runs in one season. In 1978, he again led the National League with 40 home runs and 120 RBI’s.

Sports is a priceless vehicle that can be effectively utilized to teach and instill essential social values. The program will provide an essential link necessary to prepare students to become responsible citizens and adults within their communities, to achieve academic excellence and well being, and become productive members of society.
Youth involved in sports has proven to be one of the main ingredients in achieving higher academic scores, mental alertness, stress reduction, better time management - all skills that will equip our youth with a better physical and mental outlook on the future.
Purpose:
The sessions will teach fundamentals and self-confidence during the clinic. Training sessions will be divided in small multi-stations to reinforce fun-filled baseball drills and lifetime safety procedures. Also, players will learn proper stretching routines and arm exercises to build stronger bodies. The following will be included.

Third Annual Father's Day Weekend "Batter Up" Community Clinic Summer continues to bring the Heat for the Third Annual Father Day Weekend “Batter Up” Community Clinic with Former Major League Player George Foster, Comcast Corporation and Dads Do Make A Difference . The Traditional Free “Third Father’s Day weekend Batter Up” will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 9:30 am – 1 Pm at the Walter Pop Smith Little League Field on the corner of Together we can make a difference, and continue the challenge to uplift and empower the males who will undoubtedly leave an impact on our community. It’s up to us to make it a positive experience for all. Dads Do Make A Difference (DDMAD) is a positive movement with a message. Working with Dads and kids is a transformative and sometimes eye-opening experience. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to capture or recapture something we all have in common...a father.
